Who Will Go?
Who Will Pray? Who Will Send?
The first reason SEAMIST-USA was
formed was to be an advocate for the
people groups in South East Asia who live day by day
spiritually helpless and hopeless, far from God.
We do not apologize for believing the declaration of
Jesus that He is the ONLY way that man can come to God
(John 14:6). These peoples live without a close
relationship to the God Who created them, doomed to an
eternity far from His Presence. SEAMIST-USA wants
churches, individuals, companies, and organizations to
pay attention to their spiritual need and to do
something about it.
We really do believe we
can change the world because our God promises
to do just that. If God's people will pay
attention to what God is doing, join
Him in His work, and wait in faith,
NOTHING is impossible! We
advocate the adoption of people groups for prayer and
outreach, and the adoption of church planting workers
who will GO and PREACH to these least reached peoples.
How does it work? In 2007
a small church in Missouri adopted a people group, the
Aeta Negritos of Mabinay. They prayed
regularly for a church to be established there.
They gave $100 to pay for galvanized
iron for a roof for a "community center" that the people
there wanted to build. They gave $50 for
transportation to send a worker.
As needs arose they assisted the church
planters as the Lord provided them. By July 2008,
there were three churches in the area, more than 20
elders and 3 ordained pastors, and hundreds of converts.
The work there continues to grow to this day.
In July of 2008, the church
planter died of liver cancer at only 31 years old.
The little church in Missouri grieved with the widow and
helped her continue her husband's work with the Aeta.
Other workers were trained to coninue equiping the
leaders to equip the Aeta believers to do the work of
the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13). By July, 2009,
the widow knew she was leaving to go to Thailand to work
with another unreached people group. The church in
Missouri contines to this day to pray for and support
BOTH the Aeta work in the Philippines and that widow who
has now taken her two children and is leaning the Thai
language and culture in preparations for work with the
Shan peopel in that area.
You can get involved! It
is easy!
-
Pray and ask God about a
people group to pray for.
Adopt them. We
have 122 suggestions if you need one.
-
Pray for the people
group to be reached with the good news. Learn
all you can about that group so you can pray
intelligently. Bing or Google them on the
internet. There are many ways to get
information.
-
Find some missionary
or organization that is working to reach them or has
a vision to go to them. Get information from
them. Find out what you can do to help.
-
Get others to pray
together with you for what the people group needs,
and listen to God while you pray. When you are
praying in agreement with God and others, your
prayers are POWERFUL.
-
Reach out to the
people in the group. Find some of them on the
internet. Go and visit them short term.
Go as a missionary. If you can't go, send:
Adopt a missionary
who is going to them for prayer and support.
"For whosoever shall call
upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall
they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how
shall they preach, except they be sent?" Romans
10:13-15
In this passage there is GOD,
the LOST, the PREACHER, and the SENDER?
Which one are you?
Which ONE are you?
