Your Persistent Prayer Will Get Miracles....

How To Pray For Missionaries and Mission Work:

Pray for Many Opportunities.  "Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Don't forget to pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to preach about his secret plan – that Christ is also for you Gentiles." (Colossians 4:2-3 NLT)  Pray that the Lord will give His preachers many opportunities to share Christ with the lost.  Most parts of South East Asia are NOT friendly to the gospel of Christ or to Christian missionaries.

1. Pray God will pour out His Holy Spirit over South East Asia, convicting men and women of sin and righteousness and judgement.  Pray the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts and minds of those that the workers will contact to receive the good news.

2. Pray for those in authority to be saved and to lead their people with wisdom and judgement from God.  Pray they will allow the message about God's salvation to prosper in their countries and cities.

3. Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will lead His workers to men and women of peace who will open their hearts and homes to the "foreigners" and give them comfort and protection as well as opportunity to share the gospel.  Pray for "divine appointments" that connect the workers with hearts and minds ready to believe.

Pray for Wisdom and Boldness.  "Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should." (Colossians 4:4 NLT) "And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words as I boldly explain God's secret plan that the Good News is for the Gentiles, too." (Ephesians 6:19 NLT)  Pray that the missionaries will adopt the culture of the lost, learning how to boldly comminicate the message in ways it will be listened to and understood.  Many unreached people groups have never believed the gospel because the messengers did not comminicate it in language and context that could be accepted.

1. Pray for the workers to have divine wisdom about the best methods and terminology to use to comminicate the gospel effectively in the cultures and societies of the unreached people groups 

2. Pray for boldness that will overcome all fears in the workers.  Pray for a powerful anointing of the power to witness that Jesus promises to those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit.

3. Pray for supernatural confirmation of the truth of the gospel with signs and wonders as promised by the Lord.

Pray for Quick Results.  "Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you." (2 Thessalonians 3:1 NLT)  Missionaries need to keep moving ahead.  Progress in least reached people groups often results in discouragement and failure.

1. Pray that the workers are wise in their choices about methods and strategies and that they will be led by the Holy Spirit to go to the right people and places at the right time.

2. Pray for the perfect mix of Holy Sprit conviction, gospel message, dreams and visions, and signs and wonders in the life and work of the missionary so that even the hardest heart will be moved to accept Jesus.

3. Pray that the workers will get good and fast results and that the new disciples would quickly be equipped to do the work of the minsitry themselves so that the work is multiplied.

Pray for Protection.  "Pray, too, that we will be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone believes in the Lord." (2Thessalonians 3:2) "He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. As a result, many will give thanks to God because so many people's prayers for our safety have been answered." (2 Corinthians 1:11)  Missionaries face many trials.  There is an enemy that hates them and will attack them in any possible way.

1. Pray for God's protection against the devil and all his forces, both human and spiritual.  Pray that the Lord would guard the missionary's emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

2. Pray for wisdom in answering attacks, accusations, and lies from every direction.  Pray that every deception will be revealed and that the truth will prevail in every situation.

3. Pray that the missionary will maintain a holy testimony of  righteous life and good works that is both seen and appreciated by everyone who knows him.

Pray For Provision.  "At the moment I have all I need – more than I need! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me..."  (Philippians 4:18 NLT)  God provides for His workers and His work in answer to the prayers of His people and according to His promises.  God uses the senders in many cases to provide!

1. Pray for sending partners for the missionary that will stand with them through the good times and the bad times as well.

2. Pray for wisdom for the missionary in the ways he uses the support the Lord provides.

3.  Pray for times of refreshment and rest for the missionary family.  Pray they will never feel guilty using support to keep themselves healthy and strong.
